Ripe lulo look like an orange on the outside and a tomato on the inside. They have a citrus flavour, sometimes described as a combination of rhubarb, pineapple, kiwi and lime. The juice of the lulo is green and is often used for a drink called lulada.
Lulo have rich aroma with sour notes.
The fruit is a good source of vitamin C.

Preparation
Ready to eat upon arrival.
Wash, slice in half and scoop out the flesh.
Usage
Eat neat, or mix with ice cream or yoghurt. The lulo flesh can also be used to make juice - simply mix with water or apple juice and add some natural sweetener if you wish. Lulo and banana is a popular combination, often used in baking in South America.
Storage
Lulo are quite perishable so must be refrigerated to keep fresh.
Eat within a few days.
